Welcome to my auction - Up for your consideration is this original 1950's manufacturers glossy photo of 2 Douglas F4D Skyrays flying in formation. Back ahs the Douglas Public Relations stamp on back.
The Douglas F4D Skyray (later redesignated F-6 Skyray) was an American carrier based fighter interceptor built by Douglas Aircraft Company. The aircraft was in service a relatively short time (1956–1964) and was the first carrier-launched aircraft to hold the world's absolute speed record, at 752.943 mph,(1211.744 km/h) It was also was the first United States Navy and Marine Corps fighter that could exceed Mach 1 in level flight. It was the last fighter produced by the Douglas Aircraft Company before it merged with McDonnell Aircraft and became McDonnell Douglas
.

- The photo is in nice, vintage, pre-owned condition! Shows some normal age/use wear with light soiling on edges, slight yellowing and a little bowed
