USN North American Rockwell T-2C Buckeye BuNo 155240 CN 310-35 . Taken in june 1987 . Aircraft was sent to AMARC Davis-Monthan AFB , Tucson AZ (KDMA) on August 17 , 1992 and scrapped on October 18 , 2011 .
NOTE . THERE IS A SLIGHT SCRATCH HIGH IN THE LEFT HAND SKY . PLEASE SEE LARGE SCAN FOR DETAILS .
Last duty station was with VT-19 , CTW-1 , NAS Meridian , Ms. (KMNN).
The
North American T-2 Buckeye
was the
United States Navy
's intermediate
training aircraft
, intended to introduce U.S. Navy and
U.S. Marine Corps
student
naval aviators
and student
naval flight officers
to jets.
It entered service in 1959, and was replaced by the
McDonnell Douglas T-45 Goshawk
in 2008.
